The evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionized Business Information Systems (BIS), transforming traditional decision-making into data-driven, intelligent operations. This paper explores how AI-augmented BIS provide strategic advantages by enhancing operational efficiency, predictive analytics, customer personalization, and market responsiveness. We conduct a focused literature review on studies, evaluate current technological architectures, propose a framework for AI integration, and discuss limitations and implementation challenges. The findings emphasize that organizations leveraging AI within BIS can realize measurable improvements in competitive positioning and innovation
